Within the framework of the Danish Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers, the Embassy of Denmark, in cooperation with the Norwegian Embassy, the Embassy of Finland and the Embassy of Sweden, organized a seminar on the Nordic sustainability models. It was the second seminar of its kind to be organized by the Nordic countries.

This week it was announced that Joachim Triers third film is the only Nordic film competing for the Palme d’Or at the 2015 Cannes International Film Festival between 13-24 May.

The longest continuous settlement of wine cellars in Central Europe is only 40 minutes from Budapest, in the town of Monor. The local chaplain from Eger introduced the grape vine on this final outcrop of the hills of Godollo in the 1400s, and a sturdy wine-cultivating community has thrived here ever since. Interested visitors can stop at the Strazsa Mountain for a wine-tasting tour since 2009.

Ambassador Skarstein donated Norwegian books translated into Hungarian to the local library, István Széchenyi Library, during the visit to Sopron.

On Wednesday 18th of March, Ambassador Skarstein and Deputy Head of Mission Sande, visited the beautiful city of Sopron, close to the Austrian border, northwest in Hungary. The full-day program included a meeting with the Mayor of Sopron, Mr. Tamás Fodor, a book donation to the local library and a tour of the Monastery of Sopronbánfalva.
