Invitation to Decent Work Information Day

Green industry and urban development, energy efficiency and innovative technologies were topics when the Norwegian Embassy invited Hungarian local authorities, as well as Hungarian and Norwegian businesses to discuss bilateral environmental cooperation.

Eager readers set aside an evening to explore the life and literary works of the renowned Norwegian author and Nobel laureate, Knut Hamsun at a local library in Budapest this fall.

“Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Leymah Gbowee and Tawakkul Karman are each in their own right worthy winners of the Nobel Peace Prize. The Government welcomes the award of this year’s prize to these three women. It is recognition of women’s non-violent efforts to promote peace and democracy,” said Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

The Nordic countries' social and economic model was highlighted as an example to follow when the Hungarian parliamentarians and the Norwegian Embassy invited to a conference on the theme at the Hungarian Parliament in November.
