Norway attended parliamentary conference on European Foreign Affairs

Sist oppdatert: 2011. 05. 09. // The situation in Northern Africa, Croatia’s accession to the EU and the integration of the Western Balkans were some of the topics when the different European Parliaments met to discuss foreign affairs issues in Budapest May 6th.

The Conference of Chairpersons of the Foreign Affairs Committees (COFACC) gathered Chairpersons from all the EU´s Member States and other European countries to exchange views on foreign affairs issues.

The topics that were discussed were the situation in Northern Africa, the Eastern Partnership, Croatia’s accession negotiation and the EU integration of the Western Balkans.

There were also presentations on the results so far of the Hungarian Presidency, further tasks and the Hungarian priorities in foreign affairs.

First Vice Chair of the Stortinget´s Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence in Norway, Svein Roald Hansen attended the meeting.

Also attending from the Norwegian side was Per S. Nestande and Øystein Bø, Secretary of the Committee.
